Jost Meier (1939) Lorca Cycle | First Performance V
Jost Meier, 76 old swiss composer, has written a new piece for the swiss Festival “Klangidyll” called Lorca Cycle for soprano and string quartet. Manfred Osten...Tell me, for us in Germany, there was a very special event for you, back in 1994, when your Dreyfus Opera was performed at the German Opera and New York. At that time it has found great attention, and has taken your name far beyond the Swiss borders. What do you remember from the time of the German Opera, where Götz Friedrich was at that time if I am correct – who valued and appreciated this work very much? What do you remember from this period and how do you assess this actually brilliant performance today that made you famous back then? Jost Meier: Yes, is often the case that the stuff - lets say - that makes famous, or what... It was, of course, a great experience with Götz Friedrich. He was a big personality. |
